MKC’s 5 Day Programs are the most popular as they provide the perfect amount of time to immerse yourself in the world of whitewater. Both new and seasoned paddlers learn to master skills and build confidence on the water. The final day of your course is a full River Trip – allowing you to use your new skills on a different river and finish your active vacation with a healthy dose of adventure.
At our Wilderness Resort, you will have full use of MKC’s facilities, including hot outdoor showers, log sauna, and yoga pavilion. Camping, lodge or cabana accommodation and gourmet meals are also available. A Rapid Education combined with a wilderness getaway – Come join us this summer!
Our 5 day courses
It is highly recommended to take either a 5 day or River Rescue course before venturing out on river trips.
We also offer three Family Weeks throughout the season for families with younger paddlers (Minimum age 9). Please note: Kids learn best with other kids for kayaking, and best with an adult if canoeing.
5 Day Courses are available Monday-Friday from May until the Labour Day Weekend. Click the Dates & Prices Button above for more details.
Start the day with a stroll through the woods along the MKC Trail, or a morning stretch in our open air yoga pavilion. Join other early risers for a steaming cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate, by the fire or outside on the deck.
Breakfast is served at 8:00 and at 9:00 we gear up to head to the river to paddle until noon. A buffet lunch is served to refuel hungry paddlers. Instruction resumes until around 4 pm, when our shuttle vans return to the centre. Unwind and share river stories over juice, coffee and a homemade snack. The Log Sauna is hot to stretch tired muscles.
Dinner at 6pm, followed by an additional dry land session or an instructional film to compliment the days learning. The lounge is a favourite spot to socialize, read a book, or strum a guitar by the fire until it is time for bed, resting up for the next days adventures. The river awaits!
